How It Works
When viewing the changes list at https://changebreeze.com/changes/, each change has a "Duplicate Change" option in the actions dropdown menu (three dots on the right side of each row).
User Flow:
Find a Change: Browse the changes list and locate the change you want to duplicate
Open Actions Menu: Click the three-dot menu icon on the right side of the change row
Select Duplicate: Click "Duplicate Change" from the dropdown menu
Automatic Redirect: You're immediately taken to the edit form for the new duplicated change
Success Message: A confirmation message appears: "Change duplicated successfully. You are now editing the new copy."
What Gets Copied:
The duplicate includes all the original change's details:
-
Title (prefixed with "Copy of")
-
Description
-
Implementation, test, and rollback plans
-
Risk and impact levels
-
Communication plan
-
Assigned users and approvers
-
Approval mode (basic or vCAB)
-
Notification settings
-
Teams webhook configuration
What's Different:
-
Status: Always starts as Draft (fresh start)
-
Creator: Set to the user who created the duplicate
-
Title: Prefixed with "Copy of" to distinguish it from the original
-
No Approvals: All approval states are reset (clean slate)
Use Cases:
-
Recurring Changes: Quickly create similar changes without re-entering all details
-
Change Templates: Use a well-documented change as a starting point for similar work
-
Variations: Create multiple versions of a change with slight modifications
-
Efficiency: Save time on repetitive change creation
The duplicate is ready to edit immediately. You can modify any fields before submitting for approval.
